Summertime is one of our favourite times of the year. It usually means we get some nice weather, we have a few days booked off, and there’s a good vibe in the air.
It also means there’s something fun happening somewhere around the city pretty much every hour of the day.
Luckily for you, we’re here to make it easier for you to find out what’s going on, where, and when.
SATHILL FIVES
If you or your little ones are football-obsessed, then a trip to the iconic Salthill Fives is a must (June 1st to June 2nd). Owing to The Connacht Hotel’s proximity to the city centre, a stay with us means you won’t be far from Salthill. A short 15-minute drive or taxi journey will deliver you to the famous promenade. Opposite this, you’ll find the hallowed turf of the Salthill Fives competition where some legendary names have played over the years.
CORRANDULLA AGRICULTURAL SHOW
For some truly family-friendly fun, the Corrandulla Agricultural Show should be near the top of your list. This year, it’s all happening on June 23rd, and it once again promises some good old-fashioned fun, especially when the sun is shining and the weather is co-operating. You’ll love the pony shows, the amusements, the arts and crafts competition, the dog shows, and show much more. It’s a fantastic down-to-earth way to spend an afternoon!
BRIGIT'S GARDEN SUMMER CAMPS
Calling all tiny tots seeking some summer fun in Galway. Brigit’s Garden Summer Camps promise some amazing fun times, and there’s sure to be a whole host of new memories when all is said and done. This is a great way for little ones to enjoy some outdoor fun while learning some cool crafting skills as well as supervised fire building, animal tracking, and lots more.

The Galway International Arts Festival and the Galway Summer Sessions will see the likes of Jess Glynne and Stuart Copeland take to the stage for some incredible entertainment. Plus, you can always look forward to the unique and unrivalled thrills of the Galway Races Summer Festival - it always delivers on great fun for so many!
